Wedding Music Tips from over 30 years of DJing
Magical Tip #3     The Bride & Groom should only be picking a few dance songs.

* They usually pick to many slow, lovey dovey songs.
* Their minds are lost in space during the night.
* Plus they are usually to busy doing meet and greet throughout the night to keep the party going.
Magical Tip #2     Never lets your DJ pick your dance music.

* If DJ is just reading the crowd, only one style of music or one group of people will be dancing.
* Plus your DJ's taste of music and yours, may be totally different. So your DJs song picks may be a flop.
* So for 2 hours of dance music, you will only need about 30 songs.
* So do you want your DJ to pick those 30 special songs. "No"
Magical Tip #1     Bridemaids & Groomsmen & Friends keep the party going.

* So allow them to each pick 3 to 6 songs. ( That They Will Dance To )
* Plus it makes them feel, like they are more a part of your wedding.
* Then have them send the songs to you, for approval.
* Then send that list to your DJ to have them create a Dance Song playlist.
Magical Tip #4     Guest Arrival and Dinner Music are basicly the same (Easy Listening for All)

In the past instrutmental music was played, but it didn't engage the mind of the guest.
The guest would fidget or feel antsie waiting for the dance music to start or for wedding to be over.
I play love songs from over the years, that brings back memories to the guest.
This allows their minds to reminisce and remember the good ole days.
Magical Tip #5     Having Guest Arrival music playing in the background, as people arrive at your receiption location.

Will make it more inviting and relaxing for guest, being around strangers and gives them something to talk about.
I reccommend 1 hour of guest arrival music and 2 hours of dinner music, there are always delays.
Plus you can get the caking cutting, and etc. done, after eating dinner and before the first dance.
If you get everything done early, use the extra time for dance music.
Magical Tip #6     Purchase 2 hours of dance music for your Wedding.

But ask your DJ if they'll stay longer if party is going good.
Because some guest leave early, and some don't like dancing in front of strangers.
Plus by the 3rd hour of dance music, the party is usually slowing way down, because of the age difference in music choice.
